PBN: HCAN prioritizes bills protecting keiki services, paid sick days

"The community services provided by nonprofits across Hawaii are needed now more than ever, as so many of our neighbors are facing problems such as unemployment, food insecurity, and mental health crises."

"Service providers are still recovering from the damage of the last recession’s budget cuts, and more cuts now would just exacerbate many of our state’s problems. HCAN Speaks! is a member of the Hawaii Tax Fairness Coalition, which is asking lawmakers to get those in our community who are fortunate enough to be doing well to pay a little more, instead of cutting essential services."
